What is a Database?
A database is an organized collection of information, usually grouped in related topics.
A database contains tools to search through information, i.e. search boxes, field limits, and thesauri.
A database can provide immediate source information (e-journal, e-book).
A database can provide abstract information to help a user locate an original source in a library or elsewhere in the world!
EBSCO and LIRN are database portals: both EBSCO and LIRN provide access to multiple databases.

Start with general search keywords.
Scan result sets that seem large for keywords that you can use.
Use "and" between keywords to limit results containing only those words.
Use "or" between keywords to expand results containing either word.
